Celebration Day Host

Lucy Gibson

Lucy Gibson is a journalist-turned-film-publicist who, when she’s not sitting in a dark cinema watching or promoting movies, is chasing the black line in the swimming pool or getting her saltwater fix in the ocean. Having followed her two big brothers into the pool, Lucy captained her local swimming club in England but her true love affair with the sport began when she moved to Australia in 2000 to cover the Sydney Olympics and subsequently settled in Perth. Since then she has made numerous crossings to Rottnest in teams, duos and as a solo swimmer in the inaugural Port to Pub in 2016. She gets her competitive fix training under coach Paul Newsome’s SwimSmooth programme and her zen with the Port Beach Polar Bears, an inspiring social group who swim seven days a week, 12 months of the year come rain or shine – and love nothing more than a post-swim cup of tea and toast.
